Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education's (AAYTE) 26th Annual Benefit for Children will take place on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 6 p.m. at the AAYTE Center, 4842 Ridge Ave. in East Falls. This years Benefit co-chairs are Nicole A. Cashman, Justin B. Wineburgh, and Ken and Barbara Toscano. The annual event raises funds for AAYTE's year-long programs benefitting a diverse group of more than 8,000 boys and girls throughout the Philadelphia area. In addition to activities at the AAYTE Center, programs are held at recreation centers in Philadelphia, Norristown, and Ardmore, PA, and Camden, NJ. AAYTE's Benefit for Children, which last year attracted 1,200 people, includes a reception and sit-down dinner catered by Restaurant Associates, an exceptional silent auction, and a program portion of the night, including live auction with incredible items, hosted by celebrity auctioneers. Unlike other big benefit events, attendees are encouraged to dress in either casual or tennis attire. Ticket prices begin at $250 and sponsorship opportunities begin at $3,500. AAYTE is also offering a Young Friends ticket price of $160 for guests age 35 and younger. Persons wishing to attend, become a sponsor, donate an auction item, or serve as volunteers should call AAYTE at 215-487-3477 or visit www.ashetennis.org.
