Picture this:

It's Friday, May 21st, the start of Memorial Day Weekend 2010.

You just got to your new shore house, and your car is unpacked. You're sitting on the deck with your housemates for the summer - some you've never met, a few you met at a shore house happy hour in the spring. Someone brings out tortilla chips and salsa. You open a Corona. The first happy hour of shore season has begun!

If you've never "done" a shore house, check it out - most houses have a specific age range -- some are home to 20-somethings, some are 30s and 40s who are newly-single (or always single!) or still looking (or always looking!), others are 50+ divorcees or confirmed bachelor(ette)s.

If you're like thousands in the region (many who are just looking to jump in on a house and do not have a friend to do it with) - you've probably joined a shore house for Summer 2010. If you haven't joined one yet, see below to find a house with openings, because spots are filling fast. And once summer hits, Friday means a mass exodus from the city to the beaches. Join the fun.

Join a group of professionals in their late 20's- 30's and spend every other weekend in a great house in Avalon! This is a fantastic house filled with fun people who are responsible and love to have a great time. You will have access to the house every other week and the adjoining weekend. Holiday weekends are included. You are assigned a bedroom/ bed for your weekends and may leave things at the house if you choose. You are responsible for your own linens and beach tag. Avalon Bay House 2010

We are looking for shore house mates for the 2010 summer. Our group is all 30 or older and we love to have a good time respectfully. We have a beautiful house on 24th st in Avalon on the bay. We have full shares available for $2200 which includes 16 week/weekends. The house is open during the week. We have 5 bedrooms, 3 huge decks, and plenty of living space. Two other bedrooms on this level have bunk beds, both with double on the bottom and twin bunk on top. The other bedroom (2 twins) and bath is also on this floor. 5 bedrooms -sleeps 12 Looking for male or female full or half shares AGE RANGE 30-41. Full Timer: $1,700.00 Part Timer: $850. Additional charges will be will be split between roommates for ancillary items and utility bill.

Sea Isle House - Ages 35-45

What do you think of when you think of Summer 2010......nowhere to go, nothing to do, Well, worry no more!! Spend your summer in Sea Isle, laying out on sandy beaches, listening to the Juliano Brothers play at Happy Hour, shopping, relaxing, grilling steaks on the grill, and meeting great people, if this sounds like you read on...

We are looking for 2 people, ages 35-45, professional male or female. We have a house on 44th Street back on the bay in Sea Isle City, NJ. Our group is 3 guys and 2 girls, we are ages 40-45. The professions of us are Advertising Sales, IT Programmer, School Teacher, Buyer, & Bartender. The property are stackable units, we are on the bottom. House is 3 bedrooms; Bedroom #1: 1 double, 1 single; Bedroom #2: 1 double, 1 single and Bedroom #3: 1 double, 2 singles. 1 and 1/2 bath. Season is from Friday, May 14-Thursday, September 30 (Total 20 Fun Weekends in Sea Isle). All utilities are included in this price. Apartment size, stackable Washer/Dryer included as well. We also have a brand new grill. The house has central air. There is a deck off of the Living Room. Since, we are all adults, you hang from the chandelier and it gets ripped off the ceiling, you are required to pay to get it fixed, as with anything else that might get broken or damaged. Price is $2,300.00 per person for all the info listed above. A typical weekend: Laying out, drinking,eating, grilling, shopping, some games of flip-cup, and best of all not having to work. Miscellaneous Info: The 3 major holidays we take long weekends/weekdays. If you choose to be a roommate you are more than welcome to spend some vacation time down there. We are a group that doesn’t bring the bar back to our house after closing time. One of the bedrooms which has 1 twin/ 1 double will be your room. Since you don’t know us, nor do we know you, it makes more sense. Our ideal roommates would be 2 guys or 2 girls that are friends. Also, we would like to meet you as well. We are an established group of 30-somethings who work hard during the week and love to relax at the beach on the weekends. Low membership means full shares get guaranteed bed. Guests encouraged. Full shares include Starboard Opening (March), Closing (November) and NYE 2011. Memorial Day thru October 3rd (19 weeks).
